Want to take a break from hunting Tempered monsters? Why not try a 4-star High Rank event quest instead in Monster Hunter Wilds (MH Wilds)? This particular one not only lets you hunt a regular Quematrice, but gives you materials for a cute headgear, too! Here’s how to complete the MH Wilds When Do Quematrice Sing event quest.

Quest Details and Availability

MH Wilds regularly launches time-limited event quests  with various rewards. When Do Quematrice Sing is currently available from April 8, 2025 00:00 to April 22, 2025 12:59 (UTC).

You can take part in it once you reach Hunter Rank 9 and above. That means completing the entire Low Rank storyline, at least until Chapter 4-1. However, it’s not usually recommended to take on these quests immediately upon reaching HR9. You’ll have to be on a significantly higher HR to stand a fair chance of challenging the Quematrice.

If you’ve met all the requirements, you can begin with talking to Alma and then find the quest in your Event Quest tab.

Here’s what you should know before diving in:

  • Time Limit: 50 minutes
  • Difficulty: High Rank 4-star quest
  • Reward: 12,240 Zenny
  • Failure Conditions: Time expires or faint 3 times
  • Player Limit: Up to 4 players

Hunting the Quematrice

The MH Wilds When Do Quematrice Sing event quest is available in the Windward Plains region during daytime in the Plenty season. You’ll face a regular Quematrice, which isn’t really that different from a normal hunt. In fact, this spicy chicken monster might be one of the easiest monsters to face in High Rank. However, it will still pose a significant challenge for hunters without strong armor and weapons.

To effectively fight this fiery wyvern, here are some preparations you can make:

  1. Gear Recommendation: Nu Udra or Guardian Arkveld armor, any armor set with good combo of defense and fire resistance
  2. Elemental Weaknesses: Water
  3. Recommended Weapons: Great Sword, Long Sword, Dual Blades, Charge Blade, Sword and Shield, Insect Glaive, Switch Axe, or Bow
  4. Target Areas: neck, tail, and head
  5. Items to Bring: Potions, Nulberries, Shock Trap, Pitfall Trap, Flash Pod

If you have sever weapons with additional Water damage, that would be best to bring against the Quematrice. Also, employ these battle strategies for a more efficient hunt in the MH Wilds When Do Quematrice Sing event quest:

  1. Try staying near the Quematrice’s legs and be wary of its tail, as most of its heavy attacks and Fireblight come from it. If possible, sever this part early.
  2. You can lure Quematrice into a turf war with Rathian to distract it and lower its defenses.
  3. If you get infected with Fireblight, dive into nearby water or roll 2-3 times to remove its effect. You can also  use Nulberries for this.
  4. Watch out for the Quematrice’s  360 tail attack. Its head becomes a major weak point after this attack, and you can deal great damage by focusing on that part.
  5. Use Focus Strikes to deal more damage or knock it back.
