Fortnite’s newest addition, the Jawa Scatter Blaster, functions like a single-shot shotgun with massive burst potential. Despite having only one shot, it doesn’t require ammo or reloading but overheats after each use, leaving a 2.22-second cooldown. Its headshot multiplier sits at a modest 1.25x, encouraging body shots over precision hits due to its wide pellet spread.

The weapon delivers damage from 170 (common) up to 190 (legendary) on perfect headshots, though the body shot damage at higher rarities remains close—making headshots less rewarding. While powerful, this blaster is high-risk in close-range fights. If you miss your opening shot, you’re left vulnerable during the long cooldown.

Most players will find better consistency by pairing the Scatter Blaster with a high-fire-rate SMG like the CR2. But its demanding inventory commitment and reliance on landing that first shot could limit its viability for some.

AI Darth Vader and Chewbacca Join the Island

A major change in the update is the introduction of a new Darth Vader NPC. Once defeated, he becomes a hired ally, granting a lightsaber, Jedi training, and full health and shield upon recruitment. He appears at one of three locations marked by his spaceship, visible from the Battle Bus. While the fight to defeat him can get hectic, his AI abilities and healing make him one of the most aggressive and helpful hired NPCs so far.

What sets him apart is his full AI voice interaction system. Players can speak to him using in-game chat, triggering varied responses based on context. Although initial issues saw him saying inappropriate things, Epic quickly rolled out patches. Still, his unique interaction system continues to be a hot topic among players.

Chewbacca also enters the scene as a hired NPC found at Stormtrooper outposts. Clear the enemies, and Chewbacca joins your team, dropping a legendary Wookie Bowcaster. He acts as a supply NPC, handing out items like minis and shield bubbles, though he currently won’t supply shockwaves.

Wookie Bowcaster Mechanics and Use Cases

The Wookie Bowcaster returns with charge mechanics. While uncharged shots deal moderate base damage—50 (legendary), 47 (epic), 45 (blue)—fully charged shots apply 60 explosive damage, pushing the total damage past 100 when direct hits land.

Its strength lies in splash damage against opponents in cover or vehicles. It’s particularly effective at damaging regular cars and exposed players. However, it struggles against spaceships, as the explosive radius doesn’t hurt drivers inside. Still, it deals 400 damage per fully charged shot to ships, making it a solid counter against aerial threats in Zero Build or build fights alike.

Jar Jar NPC and Weapon Buffs

A new Jar Jar NPC has been added near the mid-map gas station, offering a blue Jawa Scatter Blaster and a Chug Jug for 600 gold. While expensive, the Chug Jug can be a solid pickup when healing options are limited, especially in high-pressure mid-game scenarios.

The update also delivered buffs to several weapons:

  • DL44 Pistol: Damage increased by 1 across all rarities and ADS accuracy improved by 18%. Though minor, these changes polish an already underrated weapon.

  • CR2 SMG: Gained 1 damage point per rarity from green onward; legendary also received a bonus to structure damage.

  • Barm ST12 Scatter Blaster (Auto Shotgun): Received a 4–5 point damage buff depending on rarity and now takes longer to overheat. These adjustments make it a stronger alternative, though the ACP Pump remains the preferred choice for many players.

One disappointment remains: turning air sprites into shrines still doesn’t provide shockwaves, which was a reliable method in the previous season.
