Forza Motorsport Delivers on Car Progression Changes - Update Notes
Turn 10 Studios’ Forza Motorsport gets its Update 6 today, which contains a change that many players have been waiting on – the Car Progression mechanic overhaul.
Early in February, the developers detailed their plans on how they intend to change the Car Progression mechanic in the game. In their previous post, Turn 10 promised to “remove the locked part mechanic so all car parts can be accessed at Car Level 1 for every car in the game.” That means players can now install any upgrade they want for their car, as long as they can afford to do so.
Turn 10 has also introduced a Credits to Car Points ratio for those who prefer to use their in-game Credits for upgrades. According to the update notes, players can exchange 4,500 Credits for 500 Car Points. The Credits cost might sound like a lot, but it’s an option for those who want the best version of their car right from the get-go.
Forza Motorsport’s Update 6 also introduces other gameplay updates and fixes, such as addressing AI behaviors to reduce track-rejoin collisions and additional lighting options in the Livery Editor. There are also eight new tracks by Kaveh Cohen and Michael Nielsen, and Peter Holmstrom added to the game, and you can listen to them while you’re in the Homespace.

New Content, Features and Events [All Platforms]
Car Progression Changes
- We have removed the level restriction on performance parts, making them all available at Car Level 1. This allows players to install parts in any order they wish.
- Players can use in-game Credits to acquire Car Points when exiting the upgrade screen at a ratio of 4,500 Credits for 500 Car Points. This change gives you a choice to immediately upgrade your car using Credits, or if you’re saving your Credits, you can earn Car Points for upgrades through car leveling as before.
Homespace
- 8 new music tracks have been added to the game, composed by Kaveh Cohen and Michael Nielsen, and Peter Holmstrom, and these can be heard in the Homespace environment.
