Genshin Impact Version 6.7, officially called Luna VIII (full title: Song of the Welkin Moon: Scherzo), releases on July 1, 2026. It’s the final update of the Nod-Krai arc before the game transitions into Snezhnaya territory starting in Version 7.0. This patch brings a permanent Moon exploration area, new 5-star character Sandrone, a brand-new elemental reaction called Stellar-Conduct, and buffs to seven older characters — along with one of the most-requested quality-of-life changes in the game’s history.

Whether you’re deciding who to pull on, trying to figure out the new reaction system, or just want to know what free rewards are up for grabs, here’s everything confirmed so far.

What Is the Moon Area and Is It Permanent?

Yes — the Moon is a permanent addition to Genshin Impact’s map starting in Version 6.7. Players got a brief, story-driven taste of it during Columbina’s arc, but Luna VIII turns it into a full explorable region you can revisit anytime.

The Moon map includes several distinct zones, all confirmed via the official special program livestream:

  • Ancient dragon ruins — traversed using the area’s lower gravity mechanics, which also factor into puzzles

  • Lunar Sea — contains hazardous Blue Areas that deal damage or restrict movement; you’ll need to route around them

  • Far Side of the Moon — home to a sinister-looking hidden space base

  • Space Lifeform Capture Station — part of the 6.7 event activities

  • Lunar shuttle — used for exploration travel across zones

  • A massive space elevator that takes you to the upper reaches of the Moon, from which you can see Teyvat below

Primogems are available through time-limited exploration rewards here, so don’t sleep on the new map when the patch drops.

Who Is Sandrone and Is She Worth Pulling?

Sandrone — the Seventh of the Fatui Harbingers, codenamed “Marionette” — is the sole new 5-star character in Version 6.7. She’s a Cryo Claymore Main DPS and the first character capable of enabling the Stellar-Conduct reaction.

Her kit revolves around her mechanical companion Fagio, managing two modes of Decoding Power to sustain Cryo damage and pump out Stellar-Conduct hits. Here’s a quick breakdown of her confirmed abilities:

  • Charged Attack: Fires a sustained beam dealing Stellar-Conduct damage. The beam can overheat, requiring you to cast her Elemental Skill to reset and re-engage it — her core rotation loops between charged attacks and her skill.

  • Elemental Skill: Resets the charged attack’s overheat and is central to keeping her damage flowing.

  • Elemental Burst: An AoE attack that gains bonus Stellar-Conduct damage when a Polestar Field is already active on the field.

  • Passive (Utility): When claiming Daily Commission rewards with Sandrone, she earns an extra dessert reward. She can also invite other party members to teatime.

  • Exploration: She can float and fly freely outside of combat.

Is she worth pulling? Sandrone is currently the only character who can enable Stellar-Conduct, which means her effectiveness is tied to a reaction that nobody else can set up yet. If you enjoy playing around new reaction systems and have strong Electro supports like Yae Miko or Raiden Shogun, she’s a good investment. If you don’t have Electro units to pair her with, you can still play her as a pure Cryo DPS — but you’ll be leaving significant damage on the table.

How Does the Stellar-Conduct Reaction Work?

Stellar-Conduct is a new elemental reaction that replaces Superconduct when a Stellar Linchpin character — currently only Sandrone — is on your team. It still triggers between Cryo and Electro, but the effects are significantly different.

When Stellar-Conduct activates, it creates a Polestar Field around the area. Inside that field:

  • Cryo and Electro DMG are boosted by 38% for characters standing within the zone

  • Stellar-Conduct reaction damage itself is also amplified

  • Physical Resistance of enemies is still reduced, matching the old Superconduct behavior

  • Eligible characters gain special abilities that only function inside the Polestar Field (more on those below)

The key restriction: Stellar-Conduct — and all the field buffs that come with it — only activates when Sandrone is in your party. Without her, the Polestar Field never appears, and none of the buffed characters get their new upgrades. This is the same design philosophy used with Nod-Krai’s new reactions, where access was gated behind specific roster picks.

Which Characters Are Getting Buffed in 6.7?

Seven older characters receive new abilities in Version 6.7, unlocked by visiting an NPC called Barbeloth, who gives each character a “Lunar Arcana” card reading — functionally similar to the Hexerei buffs from earlier in the Nod-Krai arc. Here’s what’s been confirmed from the livestream:

Character Buff Summary Field Required? Yae Miko Burst no longer destroys her totems; totems deal Stellar-Conduct DMG in Polestar Field Yes Wriothesley Can restore HP more frequently in Polestar Field, enabling more enhanced normal attacks Yes Cyno Elemental Burst is now partially accessible when casting Elemental Skill Yes Qiqi Skill boosts team Stellar-Conduct DMG and adds extra hits when inside the Polestar Field Yes Beidou, Diona, Mizuki Confirmed receiving buffs; full details not shown in the livestream TBC

Almost all of the buffs require the Polestar Field to be active. That means Sandrone is effectively a required teammate to get the most out of any of these characters’ new kits. It’s a genuine concern worth knowing before you pull — if you already own Yae Miko or Wriothesley and want to play them with these upgrades, you’re also building a case for pulling Sandrone.

Player Insight: Yae Miko’s buff is arguably the most impactful of what’s been shown. Her biggest weakness in long fights has always been the burst destroying her totems, forcing players to re-deploy them mid-rotation. Removing that entirely is a genuine fix to how she’s played since her original release — and the Stellar-Conduct totem damage bonus on top of it makes her a strong pairing with Sandrone.

6.7 Banner Schedule: When Do Phase 1 and Phase 2 Start?

Phase Characters Dates Phase 1 Sandrone (new) + Citlali (rerun) July 1 – July 21, 2026 Phase 2 Columbina (rerun) + Raiden Shogun (rerun) July 21 – August 11, 2026 Lightrace Wish Yae Miko, Cyno, Wriothesley, Qiqi, Mizuki + sig weapons During 6.7, exact dates TBC

Signature weapons for Sandrone and Citlali will be available on the Epitome Invocation banner during Phase 1. The Lightrace Wish banner shares its guarantee count with the Chronicled Wish banner, so any pity you’ve built on previous Chronicled Wish banners carries over. The featured units here are the same characters receiving the new Barbeloth buffs, which makes this a convenient pull window if you’re building around Stellar-Conduct.

Sunny Summer Fontinalia Event — Free Charlotte and More

The main event of Version 6.7 is Sunny Summer Fontinalia, running from July 1 to August 11, 2026. It takes place aboard Wriothesley’s ship, the Wingalet, and revolves around the Fontaine cast — including Sandrone herself. Core activities include catching aquatic life and building out the ship’s aquarium.

Confirmed rewards from this event:

  • Free copy of Charlotte (4-star Cryo character)

  • Charlotte’s new outfit (“Hurlock Variations”), also obtainable for free through the event

  • Ascension materials for Sandrone

  • Primogems, Crown of Insight, and Hero’s Wit

Several of the event’s activities will be made permanent after the event ends, though time-limited rewards will still expire on August 11.
