Godzilla Event Coming Friday: Fortnite 2025 Update Highlights
The latest Fortnite update has sparked plenty of conversations, and there’s a lot to unpack. While many expected the Godzilla content to debut immediately, Fortnite has opted for a staggered release, with the Godzilla-themed update dropping this Friday. In today’s update, however, several changes have already rolled out, including new Points of Interest (POIs), map adjustments, and tweaks to loot and weapons. Here’s a comprehensive breakdown of what’s new.
Godzilla Content Delayed Until Friday
Fans anticipating the Godzilla-themed content were left waiting a little longer. While some hyped today’s patch as the “Godzilla Update,” Epic Games chose to delay its release until Friday. This staggered launch effectively gives players two updates this week. For now, we’ll have to wait to see how the Godzilla event shapes up, but there’s still plenty to explore from today’s update.
New POIs and Map Changes In This Fortnite Update
Kappa Pickle Factory
One of the most noticeable additions is the Kappa Pickle Factory POI. This small-to-medium-sized location includes factory buildings and offices. Though it’s not the most exciting POI, it features elemental chests and at least one Typhoon Blade rack. Positioned near Hopeful Heights, the Kappa Pickle Factory is functional but not groundbreaking.
Shining Span Destroyed
The Shining Span bridge has been completely destroyed, presumably by Godzilla. While loot is still available in the broken area, the destruction makes traversal between Shining Span and nearby areas like the new Kappa Factory less convenient. For fans of this POI, its destruction may be disappointing, but its impact on gameplay appears minimal.
Flooded Frogs Unflooded
Flooded Frogs has undergone a significant transformation. The area is now unflooded, revealing a new secret room filled with three rare chests and two elemental chests. To access this room, you’ll need a Void Mask. Throw the mask’s portal through a broken wall, teleport in, and break a rock to claim the loot. A one-way porta-potty offers an exit, but you can’t re-enter through it. These changes make Flooded Frogs a more attractive landing spot, especially for Void Mask holders.
Weapon and Loot Updates (Fortntie Update Breakdown)Rail Gun Returns
The Rail Gun is back, adding a unique twist to gameplay. This charged laser weapon can penetrate structures and deal significant damage. However, its slow charge time makes it a risky choice in fast-paced battles. While it may prove useful against the upcoming Godzilla boss, its niche utility and exposure during charge-up may limit its popularity.
Shield Bubbles Unvaulted
Regular-sized Shield Bubbles have returned, offering protective zones for players. While useful in specific scenarios, such as vehicle protection, many players may find them less practical compared to other items. They might shine in the upcoming Godzilla battle but are unlikely to become a staple in most loadouts.
Oni Shotgun Buff
The Oni Shotgun received a buff, increasing its maximum damage by five points across all rarities. Despite this improvement, the weapon’s mid-range damage cap remains a limitation. Many players still prefer the Sentinel Pump, which offers higher damage potential. However, for Oni Shotgun enthusiasts, this update provides a welcome enhancement.
Sprite Changes
Epic Games has made adjustments to Sprites. Earth Sprites are now visible on the map regardless of proximity, making them easier to locate. Additionally, the stack size for Sprites has been increased to 10 when dropped by eliminated players. These changes enhance the utility of Sprites for players seeking upgrades or additional
