Fragpunk takes a different approach when it comes to this standard movement mechanic. Like in Counter-Strike: GO and VALORANT, Fragpunk doesn’t have sliding as a default movement option for all characters. Here is a quick and simple Fragpunk Slide guide to help you master this mechanic.

Method 1: Play as Axon – The Sliding Specialist

Axon serves as the lone Lancer in Fragpunk that has built-in sliding capabilities, making him stand out against other characters. Players with a mobile play style certainly lean toward Axon, given he can quickly move around. Unfortunately, it’ll take you games before you can use this unlockable character.

Currently, Fragpunk has three options for how you can add Axon to your roster. It’ll either involve use of financial resources or material, such as:

  1. Purchase him for 18,888 Gold (in-game currency earned through gameplay)
  2. Buy him with 488 FragPunk Coins (premium currency)
  3. Use a Lancer Trophy (rare resource that instantly unlocks a Lancer of your choice)

It’ll be a difficult route to use the Lancer Trophy since you can only obtain this through specific Daily Login rewards. However, it is definitely worth the effort and resources if you want a mobile character.

Once you’ve unlocked Axon, you can now enjoy his built-in slide mechanics. It is very simple and easy to do by just following these steps:

  1. Press your Q (keyboard) or LB (controller) to equip his Electric Guitar
  2. While his Electric Guitar is active, you can either sprint or jump
  3. Then, press your crouch button (CTRL/C on the keyboard, Circle on PlayStation, B on Xbox)

After mastering this, you can equip Axon’s Electric Guitar, perform a quick slide, and switch back to his primary weapon. Doing so will help you gain an advantage against your enemies.

Method 2: Use the Frozen Wasteland Shard Card

If you prefer to use other Lancers, you can use the Shard Card system to slide in FragPunk. Shard Card provides players with game-changing modifications while they’re in matches. Through Frozen Wasteland Shard Card, you can transform any map into a snowy area, making surfaces icy and slippery.

With this, any Lancer can slide through the map despite varying abilities. To earn this, the team should earn enough Shard Points to activate this between rounds. The Shard Points are rewards guven to a team that does well in a match.

However, a team can only select up to three cards in each round. This will give them strategic advantages against another team. After activating your team’s Frozen Wasteland Shard Card, you can proceed with the following:

  1. Sprint (Shift on keyboard, L3 on PlayStation, L on Xbox) or jump (Space on keyboard, X on PlayStation, A on Xbox)
  2. Press the crouch button (CTRL/C on the keyboard, Circle on PlayStation, B on Xbox)

Then, you can now slide across the map as you take out your opponents. Yet, keep in mind that this also allows the opposing team to Slide as well.

Method 3: Play Select Game Modes

Another option is to play Team Deathmatch or Glunite Grab. Certain game modes allow universal sliding for all characters. It transforms into a default movement mechanic for fun gameplay.

  • Team Deathmatch: A classic FPS mode where teams compete to reach a target number of kills
  • Glunite Grab: An objective-based mode with unique gameplay mechanics

However, these modes are only available for a certain period. It is also part of the current rotating playlist so there are times when they’re not simultaneously available. But once they’re up for play, you can press the same button combinations to slide in Fragpunk.

Conclusion

That’s all the ways you can slide in Fragpunk for now. They opted to make sliding a game-mode-specific mechanic to keep the fun for players. However, you can still enjoy it by playing a specific character like Axon or using the Frozen Wasteland Shard Card.
