Shadowbeak is one of the strongest Dark-type Pals in Palworld, making it a valuable addition to any late-game team. Thanks to its powerful Partner Skill and high combat potential, Shadowbeak excels against Neutral-type enemies and remains one of the game’s most sought-after combat companions.

Here’s where to find Shadowbeak, how to catch it, and how to breed more once you’ve secured your first one.

Shadowbeak Location

Shadowbeak can be found in Wildlife Sanctuary No. 3, located off the northern coast of the desert region.

The sanctuary doesn’t have its own fast travel point, so you’ll need to travel from the mainland before crossing to the island.

There are two ways to reach the sanctuary:

  • Flying Pal (recommended)
  • Water-type Pal to swim across

Using a flying mount is the safer option, as the sanctuary is patrolled by security forces that will attack trespassers. Flying also makes it easier to leave the area if you’re spotted.

Since Shadowbeak is a rare spawn, you may need to revisit the sanctuary multiple times before finding one.

How to Catch Shadowbeak

Shadowbeak is a high-level Pal, so preparation is key before attempting a capture.

Bring the following items:

  • High-tier Pal Spheres
  • Ring of Mercy
  • Strong combat Pals

The Ring of Mercy is especially useful because it lets you reduce Shadowbeak’s health without accidentally defeating it. Once its HP is low, throw your strongest Pal Spheres to maximize your capture chance.

Whenever possible, approach from behind before throwing a sphere, as back bonuses can improve your odds of a successful capture.

How to Breed Shadowbeak

After catching your first Shadowbeak, you can breed additional copies instead of repeatedly searching Wildlife Sanctuary No. 3.

To breed Shadowbeak:

  1. Place one male and one female Shadowbeak in a Breeding Farm.
  2. Supply the farm with Cake.
  3. Wait for the pair to produce an egg.
  4. Place the egg in an Egg Incubator until it hatches.

Each egg produced by two Shadowbeaks will hatch into another Shadowbeak, making breeding the easiest way to expand your collection.

The Ancient Hatchery can also help streamline breeding and egg incubation if you’ve unlocked it.

Why Breed Multiple Shadowbeaks?

Breeding isn’t just useful for obtaining more Shadowbeaks—it also supports Condensation, allowing you to strengthen your favorite Pal over time.

By combining duplicate Shadowbeaks through the Condensation system, you can improve its overall performance and upgrade its Partner Skill, making it an even more effective combat Pal.

Is Shadowbeak Worth Getting?

Absolutely. Shadowbeak is one of the best Dark-type combat Pals in Palworld, offering exceptional offensive potential and strong performance against Neutral-type enemies. Although finding one may require multiple visits to Wildlife Sanctuary No. 3, the effort pays off. Once you’ve caught your first Shadowbeak, breeding additional copies provides an efficient way to strengthen it through Condensation and prepare for the game’s toughest battles.
