The Wing Pack is one of the standout additions in Palworld 1.0, giving players the ability to fly without relying on a flying Pal. Unlike traditional mounts, the Wing Pack occupies your glider slot instead of a party slot, freeing up space for combat or utility Pals while making exploration much more flexible. However, unlocking this powerful piece of equipment requires reaching the game’s endgame and gathering several rare materials.

How to Unlock the Wing Pack

The Wing Pack becomes available through the Ancient Technology tree after reaching Level 80, the current level cap in Palworld 1.0.

Once unlocked, it can be crafted at the Ancient Workbench using the following materials:

Material Required Paldium Fragments 40 Paloxite Ingots 6 AI Cores 20 Thermal Cores 20 Ancient Civilization Cores 10

After crafting it, equip the Wing Pack in your glider slot to gain independent flight without sacrificing an active Pal slot.

Build an Ancient Workbench

Before crafting the Wing Pack, you’ll first need an Ancient Workbench, which unlocks at Level 67.

This workstation is used to craft many of the advanced items introduced in version 1.0, including the Wing Pack and its fuel.

Crafting the Ancient Workbench also requires access to the Ancient Furnace, since several high-tier components—including Soralite Ingots, Bio Batteries, and AI Cores—must be refined before they can be used.

When crafting advanced recipes, assign Pals with high Handiwork and Medicine Production Work Suitability to maximize efficiency.

Unlock the World Tree

Several Wing Pack materials are exclusive to the World Tree, making this region mandatory for crafting.

To gain access:

  1. Travel to the Deserted Islet and speak with the quest-giving NPC.
  2. Obtain the Echoing Flute blueprint.
  3. Collect the required whale bone materials marked on your map.
  4. Craft the Echoing Flute at a Primitive Workbench.
  5. Return to the NPC and activate the nearby shrine.
  6. Defeat or capture Panthalus.
  7. Interact with the World Tree terminal to remove the barrier.

Once unlocked, you’ll be able to explore the World Tree’s biomes and gather the rare resources needed for endgame crafting.

How to Get Paloxite Ingots

Paloxite Ingots are among the rarest materials required for the Wing Pack.

To produce them, you’ll first need to collect:

  • Paloxite Ore from purple crystal deposits in the World Tree
  • Mythical Wood from World Tree trees
  • World Tree Holy Water from enemies and special springs
  • Soralite Ingots

These materials are combined in the Ancient Furnace to create Paloxite Ingots.

Keep in mind that many World Tree resource nodes disappear when approached. Bringing a Pal with one of the World Tree’s special harvesting passives prevents this mechanic, making resource farming significantly easier.

Craft Wing Cells

The Wing Pack requires Wing Cells to operate.

Wing Cells also unlock at Level 80 and are crafted at the Ancient Workbench using:

Material Required Mythical Wood 10 Crude Oil 20

Wing Cells act as the Wing Pack’s fuel source. Using the boost function drains them much faster than normal flight, so it’s a good idea to carry several spare cells during long expeditions.

Is the Wing Pack Worth It?

For players who have reached Palworld’s endgame, the Wing Pack is one of the most valuable pieces of equipment available. Flying without occupying a Pal slot provides far greater flexibility when exploring the World Tree, traversing floating islands, or gathering rare resources.

Flying mounts still have their own advantages, particularly their Partner Skills and combat utility, but the Wing Pack offers unmatched convenience for exploration. Once you’ve unlocked the necessary technology and assembled the required materials, it quickly becomes one of the most useful tools in the game.
