Recreate Games has announced its update plans for Party Animals ahead of the Chinese New Year, which includes new playable characters, new skins, and a new battle pass. Full Steam Deck support has also been implemented, giving more options for players to play the game.

Party Animals’ Steam Deck support coincides with the game’s recent addition of the Friend Pass. The Friend Pass lets players invite their friends to play for free, as long as at least one player owns the full game. Although it is technically only available on Steam, Xbox players can also take advantage of the Friend Pass if they invite someone who plays on PC.

As for the game’s Chinese New Year update, here’s what Recreate Games has in store:

    • Shen Loong Battle Pass – Available between February 8th to 25th, this new battle pass has 15 levels for players to unlock. Unlocking each level grants various skins, avatars, and frames.
    • New Characters – Starting on February 8, players can use Cookies to purchase one or all of these seven new characters:
      • Dundun (Pallascat)
      • Kola (Koala)
      • Spike (Hedgehog)
      • Shin (Elephant)
      • Snow (Samoyed)
      • Sunny (English Bulldog)
      • Lotus (Year of the Dragon/Loong)
        • Login gift between February 8 – 25th. Available in-store from March 1st.
    • New Skins – Party Animals players can choose from a selection of 27 new skins, all of which have various release dates. Here’s when and how you can get each one:

The game also had a small patch last week, which brought the following fixes to the game:

  • Bug Fixes
    • Fixed the issue where players couldn’t play a card in PAWS after customizing controller buttons
    • Fixed the mismatched song names and actual songs in the jukebox
    • Fixed the occasional sudden death issue when playing PAWS
    • Fixed the issue where the camera couldn’t be moved while playing PAWS
    • Fixed the issue on Xbox One where all throwable items lacked special effects
    • Fixed the issue where Princess Carrot and Longshanks Sunny did not show their models in the character list
    • Fixed the UI issue where the prompt to stand up did not appear after sitting in a PAWS chair
    • Fixed the UI issue where the sit down prompt was still shown even when someone was sitting in a PAWS chair
  • Optimizations
    • Updated some of the character descriptions
    • Updated the PAWS gameplay instructions
