The Star Wars universe has returned to Rocket League in a new crossover (Rocket League x Star Wars) that heavily leans into the dark side of the Force. Running from May 2 to May 16, 2025, this limited-time event introduces new game modes, premium bundles, and a generous batch of free content. While many of the shop items are themed around Sith Lords and Imperial forces, players can still unlock ten cosmetic rewards by completing event challenges—no credits required.

New Limited Time Modes: Car Wars and GeForce Frenzy (Rocket League x Star Wars)

Leading the charge is Car Wars, a 2v2 mode on a new Force Field arena that mirrors Rocket Labs’ Loophole with a Star Wars twist. Players score by targeting thermal exhaust ports, referencing the original Death Star’s weak point. This mode uses the Spike Rush mutator with a lightsaber-themed makeover, offering a fun, chaotic gameplay experience.

From May 2 to May 7, Car Wars will rotate alongside GeForce Frenzy, a 3v3 mode from last year’s Mandalorian Mayhem. GeForce Frenzy enables unlimited boost at five times the regular power. In the second week, Splitshot joins Car Wars in the mode lineup—bringing even more variety to the event’s schedule.

Unlockable Star Wars Challenge Rewards

Players can complete Star Wars event challenges to unlock ten unique cosmetic items. These include:

  • Stormtrooper Octane Decal

  • TIE Fighter Topper

  • Sith Lord and Force Sensitive Player Titles

  • Darth Vader Player Banner

  • Stormtrooper Helmet Topper

  • Force Lightning Boost and Trail

  • Empire Wheels

Additionally, players can complete repeatable challenges to earn Golden Moon Crates containing items from the Nitro, Overdrive, or Elevation series. Another repeatable challenge grants 20,000 XP per completion to accelerate Rocket Pass progress.

Premium Bundles: Vader, Grievous, and Maul Join the Arena (Rocket League x Star Wars)

The event shop includes several premium bundles centered around iconic dark side characters:

  • Porsche 911 GT3 RS Star Wars Bundle: Includes decals for Darth Vader, Darth Maul, and Captain Phasma. Players who already own the Porsche 911 will receive these decals for free.

  • Dominus GT Star Wars Bundle: Features a General Grievous decal, the Dominus GT car body, and multiple paint variants.

  • Fennec Star Wars Bundle: Grants access to Black Fennec and a Darth Vader Fennec Decal, plus standard decal variants.

Each bundle includes exclusive decals, and players can also purchase individual items like the Death Star Goal Explosion (2,000 credits), Unstable Red Lightsaber Boost, and the Imperial March Player Anthem (300 credits).

Free Rewards Outshine Paid Content for Many Players

While the premium bundles offer striking visuals, many in the Rocket League fanbase are praising the free rewards—especially the Stormtrooper Octane, TIE Fighter Topper, and Darth Vader Player Banner. These items are easy to earn and well-designed, making the event appealing even for those who choose not to spend credits.

A Must-Play for Star Wars Fans

This latest collaboration stands out for its dark side theme, creative game modes, and generous free rewards. With references to Darth Vader, General Grievous, and classic Star Wars battles, the crossover blends Rocket League’s fast-paced action with rich sci-fi flavor. Whether grabbing free loot or driving the Porsche 911 Darth Maul through enemy lines, this event offers something for casual players and Star Wars devotees alike.
