The update introduces a full Homestead building system, an interactive pet companion system, two brand-new game modes on day one, and a multi-week event roadmap that runs well into July. If you have been waiting for something to do beyond fighting and questing, June 25 is your date. If you only play for combat, there is something here too, but you will likely be more excited about what comes on July 24.

What Is the Homestead System and How Does It Work

The Homestead sends you back to Qinghe, the land where your character grew up, now lying in ruin. Your job is to restore Blissful Retreat, rebuilding the village piece by piece through a management and construction system that the devs describe as deep, creative, and social.

Think of it as a tycoon loop inside your wuxia RPG. You farm, build, and trade to generate a new exclusive Homestead currency, then spend that currency on more buildings and upgrades, which generate more currency over time.

Confirmed construction and management features:rpgsite+1

  • Recruit local villagers as estate workers to keep your community running

  • Build inns, porcelain kilns, wine breweries, and crop farms across your land

  • Farm crops and fish on time-gated cooldowns (roughly 3 to 12 hours per cycle), keeping progression steady rather than punishing casual players

  • Earn Homestead-exclusive currency redeemable in the Homestead Shop, with the Summer’s Blush Outfit confirmed as one of the free rewards

  • Design and customize your residence with a player-driven creative feature

One thing confirmed for July, not June 25: the social sharing feature that lets you showcase your build to other Wanderers is a follow-up update. The base building system launches on the 25th.

The scale is real. Players on the CN server, where this has been live for some time, have already produced impressive builds with substantial layout depth. The global version now gets access to that same system.

The New Pet System: Cats, Geese, and a Battle Mode Coming Later

Version 1.8 brings interactive animal companions to the Jianghu, specifically cats and geese, and they are far more fleshed out than simple cosmetic pets.

The first wave of companions arriving on June 25:

  • Maverick, Scar, and Pudding (three cats, Week 1)

  • Goldie the goose (Week 2)

These pets have dynamic behavior that reacts to weather changes and in-world events. You can dress them up, engage in nurturing mini-games, and build your bond level over time. Higher bond levels unlock:gosugamers+1

  • Custom companion outfits

  • Specialized emotes and interactive actions

  • The exclusive “Cute Master” player title

One thing that is not live yet but is already confirmed: a dedicated pet battle system is in development for a future update. The devs have acknowledged it publicly.

For context, the game’s CN server has had a version of the pet system for a while. The global build is finally catching up, and the devs have expanded the feature set before bringing it west.

Two New Game Modes Landing on June 25

Martial Path Domain: 20-Floor Co-op Gauntlet for Endgame Players

This is the mode competitive and combat-focused players will care about most. Martial Path Domain opens on June 25 and is locked to players at Level 60 or above.

You form a 5-player squad and push through 20 progressively harder floors, collecting Martial Spirit as you go to grow stronger between floors. Both Normal and Hard modes are available from day one.

Rewards include:

  • Currency and crafting materials

  • Exclusive Hero Titles for top-ranking players

This is a structured PvE challenge designed for guilds and regular groups. If you have friends at Level 60 ready, this is what you are loading up on launch day.

Tomb Raiders: PvPvE Casual Mode With a Rare Purple Mount on the Table

Tomb Raiders also launches June 25. This is the more free-form mode, described as a PvPvE experience where players explore ancient caves, earn event points through kills and looting, and exchange those points for rewards.

The confirmed top reward is a rare purple mount. If you care about mounts, this event has a hard time limit tied to the Version 1.8 cycle, so do not sleep on it.

July Event Roadmap: Two More Major Events Incoming

The update’s content does not stop at June 25. Two more events are confirmed to roll out during the 1.8 cycle:

Phantom Thief Goose (Starts July 3)

You play as Goose Bo, a goose with an actual moveset. Abilities include honking, pecking, and stealth attacks. Your objective is to infiltrate Heaven’s Pier and earn event rewards. This is clearly built for fun and screenshots more than rank climbing, but the rewards are real.

Jianghu Martial Games, Second Edition (Starts July 10)

Three fast-paced mini-games return in a new season. The confirmed reward is the limited-time Dangling Carrot Outfit, along with other exclusive cosmetics. If you played the first edition, you know how it runs. Miss it and the outfit is likely gone.

The New Battle Pass: Verdant Vows

The Verdant Vows battle pass launches alongside Version 1.8 on June 25. Community reception based on preview posts has been positive, with the female character outfits in particular drawing strong early reactions from the Reddit community.

The Orchid and Silk event skin has been live in-game since June 19 as part of a 10-day mission event. You can complete missions to earn it for free or purchase it directly.

Is This Update Worth Coming Back For?

If you enjoy cozy, base-building, or life-sim style content inside an action RPG, this is a strong update. The Homestead system is free, deep, and has clearly been tested on the CN server before reaching global players. The pet companions are genuinely interactive, not just visual fluff.rpgsite+1

If you play primarily for combat and zone progression, the honest answer is that Version 1.8 is not your patch. The gauntlet mode gives you something to run, but there is no new zone, no new dungeon, and no major quest chain. Based on in-game expiry dates and the current content schedule, the next major combat content drop is expected around July 24.gosugamers

For skin collectors, the Verdant Vows battle pass and the Tomb Raiders purple mount are the two things worth tracking closely during this cycle. Both are time-limited.
