After it was rumoured last October that Night in the Woods would be coming to Nintendo Switch, we've finally got confirmation and, better yet, a release date.

Night in the Woods is a wonderfully animated and colourful story which follows our anthropomorphic protagonist, Mae, after she returns to the small town of Possum Springs and reconnects with her old pals. It's side-scrolling adventure which focuses heavily on story, personal development, and honing a deep, detailed narrative.

People who hate slow pacing and reading chunks of dialogue might not be too keen on the game and, though understandable, it is a shame. It manages to balance its light-heartedness, humour, and celebrations of diversity with a much darker, more melancholy undertone where, if you exclude the more supernatural side of things, it addresses issues like mental illness and abuse.

When Night in the Woods: Weird Autumn Edition comes to the Switch on February 1st (for $19.99), it'll bring some extra bits with it, including two side stories - Longest Night and Lost Constellation - extra activities, new dialogue, and more.
