The SteamWorld series is set in a steampunk post-apocalyptic world, and are some of the most well-loved indies to date. SteamWorld’s inaugural game, SteamWorld Dig, just received a sequel in SteamWorld Dig 2 last year. The game’s a master class in Metroidvania excellence—it’s lighthearted fun, with some serious strategy for folks who like to really dig into a game’s systems.
