nV triumphs at IEM Gamescom

The newly reformed French lineup put up an impressive showing this week the Intel Extreme Masters at Gamescom, being the final team left standing in the tournament's unique life­-based system. For their final match, EnVyUs crushed Team SoloMid 3­-0 in a best of five, and will take home $45,000 for their first place finish.

North American Cologne Qualifier ends

The qualifier event for the upcoming major in Cologne later this month has come to a close in Burbank, California, where some of the top North American teams came to compete for the two slots at ESL One and a chance to compete for a share of the $250,000 prize pool; in the end, Cloud9 and CLG managed to come out on top to secure the spots.

US wins NA World Championship seat

Another qualifier finished up this week as well, with the United States winning the single North American spot at E-Frag.net's World Championships. The Americans fought their way past their continental rivals Canada and Mexico over the three day event, playing both nations twice in a series of best of three matches.

Orbit loses roster

Benelux-based esports organization Team Orbit have lost another roster, this time their mixed roster featuring both French and Belgian talent. Orbit's coach, Neil "Neil_M" Murphy, had the following to say about the departure:

“Basically we have left the org on mutual terms. I won't go into the reasons why but both parts didn't agree on the new contracts which are expiring next month. We have already received an interesting offer but of course open to other offers as well!”

Mousesports win Meisterschaft

The up-and-coming team has asserted their dominance in the domestic German scene by winning ESL's Sommermeistershaft after a a quick 2-0 series win against their rivals Penta Sports in the grandfinals of the tournament, both maps ending with a impressive 16:4 scoreline.
