With the second day over at Dubai, it’s time for a recap of the playoffs.
After a great first day at ESL Pro League ESEA at Dubai, the playoffs started with a lot of expectation. The last four teams played today and great matches were these ones. With the grand final being so close, it’s time for a fast recap.
Playoffs (ongoing):
The first semi-final to be played was Ninjas in Pyjamas against Team Solomid and the team that was expected to advance was TSM. NiP won the 1st map which was de_dust2 with a great first half and the map finished 16-7 to NiP, which was a great surprise, because of the good score against a big team like TSM. But in de_mirage, TSM showed why they are 2nd best team in the world actually and had a convincingly score of 16-8. At the third map, de_inferno, NiP won a the first half with 8-7, but they couldnt handle it and lost 16-10, letting TSM to advance to the grand final.
The second semi-final was Virtus.Pro against Fnatic and what a great match this was. At the first map, de_cbble and VP lost 16-7, and it looked like it’d a calm win for Fnatic, but that isn’t what really happened. At de_train, VP stepped up and stopped Fnatic and won with a surprisingly 16-5 score. At the last map, de_cache, they had a great first half at the Terrorist side, winning it with 11-4 score, and showed Fnatic what happened at VP’s last game at de_cache, when VP won the entire first half against Team EnVyUs. The final score of this map was 16-4 and they showed Fnatic that they aren’t anymore the unstoppable team like most of people thought.
