Torqued snatch $7,000 at Fragadelphia 6 after defeating Enemy 3-0 with a single map advantage.
Fragadelphia 6 was held over the weekend, featuring various North American representatives such as Enemy, Torqued, CLG Red and WinOut.net. $7,000 were on the line during the final between Torqued vs. Enemy, where Torqued managed to secure the match series with 3-0, entering it with a single map advantage.
As a reminder, Torqued is partly comprised of three former iBUYPOWER members, who were banned by VALVE as a result of allegations of match fixing during their match against NetcodeGuides, namely Joshua "steel" Nissan, Sam "DaZeD" Marine, and Keven "AZK" Lariviere. This ban prohibits them from participating at VALVE sponsored event for at least the period of a single year.
The first map of the series was de_overpass, where Torqued managed to secure a very strong 12:3 CT side during the first half, and finished up the map with a 4:5 T side. Final score – 16-8.
Second up was de_inferno, where we saw a fairly even first half that concluded 7:8 on Enemy’s T side. During the second half Torqued fired up and secured 9 rounds to take the game and the Championship title, along with a sweet $7,000 cheque. The final score for the second map was 16-13.
