EnVyUs win Dreamhack Cluj-Napoca

The final major of the year closed this weekend with EnVyUs smashing their Ukrainian opponents, Natus Vincere, 2-0 in Cluj-Napoca to win the title and the $100,000 first place prize. The Frenchmen breezed their way through most of the tournament, with the exception of their semifinals match against Gamers2, which they narrowly won in triple overtime on de_inerno. Chiefs top CGPL Season 6

The Australians had a tournament of their own this major weekend in Melbourne, where some of the top teams in the country battled it out at the offline finals of the CyberGamer Premier League for a piece of the $10,000 prize pool. In the end, it was Team Immunity who fell in the grand finals of the event to the Chiefs, who took the final map in double overtime on de_train for a 2-1 series win.

Dreamhack Masters set for Stockholm

Leaked adverts for a Dreamhack Masters event in Stockholm were confirmed by the organisation this week to indeed be true. Masters Stockholm, Dreamhack says, will rival the Valve-sponsored majors in terms of scale, prize pool and production value. Further details have not been released, but DH hopes that Valve will add the event to the major circuit.

OGamingTV to host $50,000 Invitational

Brand-new streaming platform OGamingTV announced this week that they will be putting down $50,000 for a CS:GO offline invitational that will be played in Paris, France, this coming January. Eight teams in total will compete, with six being directly invited to the event and the rest coming from separate qualifiers. Valve releases standalone player spotlights

This major has seen many improvements from previous events, from polished production to improved format. One of the more memorable, though, is the player profiles played before matches, where fans get the opportunity to see the lives players lead outside of the game.
