Team Solomid has managed reach the semi finals of IEM San Jose by defeating Cloud9 2-1 after a very intensive match.

The second match of the first day at IEM San Jose has brought as a duel between Team Solomid and Cloud9. The North American team was playing under the wings of the home crowd, while the Danish team was acting as a favourite in this match.
The first map of this best of three duel was de_overpass which was Team Solomid's pick. However, they didn't really have the best opener there, as we saw them picking only eight rounds on the CT side. Cloud9 was looking very dominant and Team Solomid had a hard task infront of them by moving to the second half. But, Cloud9's defense was easily broken and the Danish team has just snowballed through tis map closing it out 16-11.
The second and the most interested map of the series was played on de_cache. Cloud9 had a very strong CT start, which brought them a 10-5 lead. By moving to the second half, we saw Team Solomid closing this gap and even taking a 14-13 lead. But, in a heart-breaking finisher we saw Cloud9 taking the next three rounds and winning this map with 16-14.
But, even the momentum which was on Cloud9's side didn't help them out when the third map started. Team Solomid took a full control of de_dust2, which is known as one of their the best maps and they have just stomped Cloud9, finishing it 16-5.
