ESL has just announced next year's edition of ESL One Cologne which will feature a $250,000 prize pool.

The largest tournament of 2015 will return with another edition in 2016. ESL has announced that ESL One Cologne will commence on July 8th-10th and the tournament will feature a $250,000 prize pool. Moreover, the event will be played in Lanxess arena which served as a venue for the playoffs of 2015's edition of ESL One Cologne.

We’re working hard at making the world’s largest Counter-Strike tournament an even greater success in 2016 and look forward to furthering our company’s long-lasting commitment to the game.” - said ESL Pro-Gaming Vice President, Ulrich Schulze.

ESL One Cologne 2015 was a record breaking event which featured 27 million unique viewers. However, there is no information released yet on wheter this will be the second major of the year or not. The first major of 2016 will be hosted on March 29th - April 3rd in Columbus, Ohio.
