CSLG and Conquest are the two teams that are going to Las Vegas to play each other for the greatest piece of a $50.000 prize pool.
After a 3 day qualifier, 16 top-tier teams have been narrowed down to 2 contenders, CSGL and Conquest. These teams will both travel to the Consumers Electronics Show and compete live in the finals of the $50.000 tournament. CSGL and Conquest were the winners of their respective continent's qualifiers, each with 8 participating teams.
The European teams that participated in the qualifiers were:
- G2 eSports
- Arcade eSports
- Team Dignitas
- SK Gaming
- Flipsid3 Tactics
- Vexed Gaming
- mousesports
- CSGL
Out if this group, only Arcade eSports, SK Gaming and CSGL failed to qualify for Dreamhack Cluj-Napoca, which made them obvious underdogs, especially to G2 eSports, who almost reached the finals of the last major. In spite of these odds, CSGL managed to be the last European team standing, beating out Vexed Gaming, mousesports and Team Dignitas.
West of the Atlantic Ocean, North America had their own qualifiers. The teams that took part in this tournament were:
- Cloud 9
- Counter Logic Gaming
- Team Liquid
- Enemy
- Conquest
- SPLYCE (formerly Follow eSports)
- Dogmen (formerly 3sUP)
- compLexity
Cloud 9, CLG and Liquid are the 3 participants who were a part of the Romanian Major, but they all were eliminated in the Group Stage. Liquid played with Aleksi "allu" Jalli in their lineup, who just left the Ninjas in Pajamas organization. Conquest recently had a very good showing in the CEVO Professional Season 8 Finals, where they were considered to be major underdogs to the other teams there, which included Virtus.Pro and mousesports. In the end, Conquest won, proving that their performance at the CEVO Professional Season 8 Finals may have not been a fluke. To get there, they had to beat compLexity, who recently went through major roster changes, Dogmen, and Enemy.
CSGL and Conquest will face each other on January 7th at the Consumer Electronics Show. This match will be a precursor to the $2.400.000 E-League, which will be aired live on TBS when it begins.
