16 African teams will be battling it out in the South African Gigabyte Dota2 Challenge for the $2000 prize pool.

In one of the more obscure Dota2 regions comes the South African Gigabyte Challenge where 16 African teams will be competing in a best-of-three double elimination bracket for a $2000 prize pool. The tournament will be taking place from the 21st to 28th of September.

All the games will be streamed live by nAvTV on hitbox.tv and Twitch. The schedule and bracket can be found below.

Prize pool distribution:
1st - $1000
2nd - $600
3rd - $400

This tournament will give an insight into the African Dota2 scene which has had very little international exposure. More specifically, the tournament will give an insight into how the South African teams are doing. Among the invited teams, there are many teams under an eSports organization and of the teams under an eSports organization is Bravado Gaming Emotion, a team who took part in the MSI Beat It 2014 international LAN event in Taiwan, besting all the teams in the African qualifiers to join the tournament.
