The International 6 recap: Groups are too close to call

The first day of the three day group stage ended with multiple teams tied atop their groups. LGD, EG and OG are in the lead for group A while Newbee, DC, Secret and EHOME are the group B leaders.
Relative to group B, group A's scores are more well spread, with Wings, Alliance and - surprisingly - TnC, all separated from the top three by a one point margin. At the bottom of the group is NA'VI, after winning once against TnC and group A's last placer, Escape Gaming.
As for group B, both Fnatic and VG.R failed to win a single of their four games, resulting in their last place finish. Higher up in the standings, MVP.P and Liquid are both one point away from catching up with the top four teams.
The games played in group A gave us several highlights and some eyebrow raising performances. Kicking off group A with one of the best series of the day, the incredibly tense and entertaining games between LGD and OG featured comebacks and an overall high level of Dota. After the conclusion of the LGD-OG series, the next set of games brought about the biggest upset of the day, TnC 2-0'd Wings after out-drafting them in game one and outplaying them in game two. While TnC was pulling their upset, Alliance also surprised fans with their drafts, picking up heroes they rarely played prior to TI6.
While the intense games and surprises happened in group A, group B had teams flaunting their full potential and Team Secret showing off their Huskar-Io combo in three of the four games they played. EHOME played particularly well in their games today, showing off supreme co-ordination and solid drafts, while their Chinese counterparts, Newbee, started off shaky but found their stride in their series against VG.R.
Both DC and MVP.P showed up on point today, playing their preferred style of Dota, and gave their respective opponents a hard time. Although they achieved lukewarm results, finishing in the middle of the group, the match between the two teams was rather interesting, containing fountain dives and big backdoor plays.
