Azure Ray new roster is assembled with a few surprises coming along, including former CDEC star Guo "Xm" Hongcheng, who joins on a voluntary basis.
After placing fourth at The International 2023 with a roster put together several months before the tournament, Azure Ray lost the three biggest names on the team and are now looking at the new season with a revamped roster.

While Lu "Somnus" Yao, Yang "Chalice" Shenyi, and Xu "fy" Linsen are most likely heading into another extended break from the competitive scene, Azure Ray have welcomed aboard former LGD support Zhao "XinQ" Zixing, Aster’s offlaner Lin "Xxs" Jing and Guo "Xm" Hongcheng who makes the most interesting talking point for the new roster.
“Xm voluntarily joined our team as a free agent with zero salary,” mentioned Azure Ray in their official roster announcement made via Weibo.
Xm spent most of his career at CDEC. Through the past couple of years, he played under the EHOME and Vici Gaming banner, and most recently, this year, he competed in the Dota Pro Circuit China regional league with the Piggy Killer stack. After the DPC concluded, he took a shot at qualifying for TI12 with Xtreme Gaming and came in second place after losing the regional qualifiers to Azure Ray.
Moving forward he decided to join the team that denied him a spot at TI12, but with no monetary remuneration.

Azure Ray are expected to compete in less than two weeks at ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023. They are one of the three teams that head to the $1,000,000 tournament in Malaysia via a direct invite.
