New 5v5 sci-fi hero shooter Concord is hosting two playable beta weekends
PlayStation Plus subscribers can now try out Concord, Firewalk Studio’s upcoming sci-fi hero shooter. The 5v5 multiplayer game is hosting early access and open beta weekends, allowing pre-order buyers to try the title out before launch. In a recent twist however, PlayStation Plus subscribers will also get the opportunity to join the early access beta regardless of whether or not they have pre-ordered the game.
Concord early access beta start times explained
Firewalk’s new 5v5 hero shooter Concord launches next month, but anyone who has pre-ordered the game will be able to participate in its upcoming early access and open beta weekends. The early access weekend will run from July 12 to 14, and will also be open to all PlayStation Plus subscribers. The open beta will run the following weekend, from July 18 to 21. Concord will be available to play on both PlayStation 5 and PC during both weekends.
Here are the global release times for the first beta weekend, taken from a new PlayStation Blog post:
Anyone who has pre-ordered Concord will get five codes in total for the first beta weekend, including one for their own use. The open beta will kick off on July 18 at 10 am PDT, but PlayStation 5 users can pre-download the beta one day beforehand.
What content can you expect in Concord’s early access beta?
Across both beta weekends, all 16 of Concord’s playable ‘Freegunners’ will be available to use and customise. According to Firewalk, “Whether you want to snipe from afar, lock down an area, provide support for your teammates, or… just dive head-first into the fight, our roster of Freegunners has something for everyone.”
In the early access weekend starting on July 12, four maps called Freewater, Star Chamber, Water Hazard and Shock Risk will be available. There will also be three game modes: Cargo Run, Clash Point and Trophy Hunt. The second weekend will feature all of the same content, but with two new map additions: Bone Mines and Area Control.
It should be noted that while progress will be carried over between both beta weekends, your progress will not carry over to the game’s full launch on August 23, 2024. However, you will get a Frog Weapon Charm, a Star Flare Icon and a Business Card for checking the game out.
