Roblox previews six adult-focused games in development, including a shooter by former Bungie devs
The six games showcased are part of the 26 projects supported by Roblox, via its Roblox Incubator initiative.
Roblox has given a juicy sneak peek at what's happening in its Roblox Incubator–a six-month programme designed to support studios in developing new game concepts aimed at an adult audience.
The programme was launched in March, which has selected 26 applicants that Roblox now directly supports in creating "novel games". This category is defined as “games that explore new genres, new gameplay mechanics, and new visual styles on the platform and are generally intended for older players.”
With the initiative now halfway through, Roblox has offered a glimpse into its Incubator teams' projects, highlighting six of the 26 games currently in development. One of the most notable is an extraction shooter being developed by Look North World, a studio created by Bungie co-founders and other high-profile studios.
The preview images and clips of these upcoming adult-focused games showcase realistic, enhanced graphics, standing in vivid contrast to most Roblox games that are currently available on the platform. The visuals are not the only aspect that has been elevated, as the concepts also promise more in-depth gameplay, ranging from an open-world driving game and a Jurassic extraction shooter, to a full-blown RPG.
Take a look at the Roblox Incubator sneak peeks below.
What games are in development through Roblox Incubator?

The team also includes former developers from Disney Interactive, EA, Epic Games, and several other prominent studios.
This stacked alumni is working on a project called Drifters, teased to be the standard extraction shooter experience where players are tossed into a world full of hostile enemies to loot upgrade materials and rewards.
The next game showcased is Octane, developed by Ignition Switch, which is set to bring players into an open-world driving experience. Players can race and cruise through the desert streets of La Vista, either solo or with friends. The game will also allow players to customise their cars and design new race tracks.

A studio called Pixel Count is working on Sky Pixel, a cosy 2D RPG featuring farming and building mechanics, where players can design, automate, and expand their own floating islands while exploring a vast shared world together.
Another title in development is Cosmic Carnage by Ghost Fox Games, a studio comprising alumni from EA, Unity, Disney, and more. The game will deliver classic vehicular combat, with players pitting "outlandish hero vehicles against each other in a futuristic demolition derby". There will be a motley selection of vehicles to choose from, including Ironjaw–a bruising muscle car fitted with a roof-mounted rotary machine gun–and Apoco-Taco–a neon-lit food truck loaded with heavy weaponry–as players battle across large, destructible arenas.

It is also an extraction shooter, but with a very different setting, as players must outmanoeuvre dinosaurs across Jurassic biomes to gather rare materials and upgrade their equipment.
Finally, the sixth highlight from Roblox Incubator is Aetherfall by Pixel Blaze Studio. It is a progression-driven RPG set in a vast open world shaped by the titular Aetherfall, a mysterious phenomenon that introduced elemental powers into the world. Players can complete missions, defeat enemies, unlock new abilities, and explore new territories throughout Aetherfall.
