This year, Championship Points earned by Guest teams throughout the season will determine whether they must defend their place in the league. Up to three Guest teams may be required to compete against the top teams from APAC's domestic leagues for a place in the 2027 LCP.
Guest teams that qualify for Worlds will automatically be exempt from the Promotion Series. The remaining Guest teams will enter either the Free-for-All or Regional Merit pathway, depending on their Championship Points and regional representation.
In the Free-for-All pathway, the Guest team with the lowest Championship Points, regardless of region, will compete against teams from participating Wild Card regions and qualified domestic leagues. Under the Regional Merit pathway, up to two additional Guest teams may be selected based on their Championship Points and home region, with at least one team from each represented region entering the Promotion Series if required.
