Clawson started his career in F2F pretty bad. He lost his first two matches. Although, he has now showed that he is to count on after beating the Swedish WCG hope TreK after 3-2 in games.
The Finnish Protoss player Clawson, or ArCNeoN(TE), won the Finnish World Cyber Games qualifications held in Stockholm, Sweden, quite unexpectedly some time ago. A lot of people were wondering if it really was the right player who won the ticket to San Fransisco. After winning F2F matches against both the Swedish World Cyber Games qualification winner – TreK, and the Spanish top player -=ALFA=-, he has showed that the WCG success was not just luck. He is one of the absolutely best Finnish players at the moment.
The match series started out with a win for TreK. After that Clawson went on a three game winning streak, which gave him his second win in the Face 2 Face event in short time. TreK won the fifth and last game, but it could not help him at that point.

The two games TreK won were Protoss versus Zerg games. TreK as Protoss, Clawson as Zerg. In the three games where Clawson won, he played his main race versus TreK's Terran (2 games) and Zerg (1 game).
Well done by Clawson who climbed to the 6th place on the ranking.
Short interview with ClawsonI had a short chat with Clawson.
First of all, a congratulation for the success in the two latest F2F matches.
- Thank you.
What was your expectations before each of them? Did you feel very confident?
- I just played the games like any others. Didn’t feel any special pressure. Although, I have to say I really wanted to play TreK. I have to say I like his TvP. When I won, I felt very satisfied.
Have you increased the time you play since you won the Finnish WCG qualifications?
- Before the WCG qualifications I played a lot. I practised the WCG maps and some days I might have played up to 35 games. At the moment I play maybe 20 games a day. When I feel motivated – I have to tell you, it’s hard to keep the motivation – I play more, and when I’m not in the mood I play less.
What are your expectations on the upcoming WCG event in the United States? Do you have any goals?
- My first goal is to make it out of the group. After that, we’ll see what happens. A lot of it depends on what group I end up in. If it’s full of very good players it might be bye, bye right away.
Ok, thank you for your time!
- No problems.
