[s]event_wcg[/s]WCG 2004, where the gaming festival has switched from Asia to USA. This year many think that this will be the first time a non-korean will take the Gold. And this year, one of the most discussed players finally made it to the WCG Grand Finals - Testie.
In the Playdium in Mississauga west of Toronto, the finals of the preliminaries for World Cyer Games were held last weekend. Lots of great world gamers were there, and especially one player that raised an eyebrow or two - Guillaume Grrr... Patry was there. Since he is living in Korea, he was autoqualified for the finals. He had a huge press on him, as any seeded player living in Korea would have.
Fourth time's a charm?
Testie tried to qualify in Toronto earlier his summer and didn't make it. Despite the loss, he didn't give up, and got himself to Maritimes to qualify another time. There it went a lot better; he took the first place, and was ready to go the Canada finals in Toronto.

Neither Testie nor Grrr.... won
But neither of the two earlier mentioned players ended up taking the first place. Instead, it was the undefeated Quebec champion Alexandre "Veg[pG]" Hulak who drew the longest straw. However, the second place went to Nick "Testie" Perentesis, which means that he finally gets to play in the WCG Grand Finals.
Pictures from the event
Testie is on the left with the curly hair and the red shirt, who looks really happy. Veg is in the right picture wearing a green shirt and glasses. You can actually see both players in both pictures.
