I know there has been a lot of talk about different ladders/gateways and servers in the past couple of weeks, heck, take the previous newspost about the Chinese server. But this caught my eye - Giga Liga, where a number of ladders compete to get into German Television.

I found the interesting post while surfing the » TeamLiquid forum. Asta, a German player who wrote this post, tells us to register on the GIGA league, a German ladder. The site » GIGALiga.de is in German, but Asta has made a tutorial on how to sign up. The GIGAliga is a part of Giga Television GmbH, a German TV broadcasting channel. On that TV channel, which is called Grand-Slam, the most popular games are broadcasted. So, in order to get StarCraft to be broadcasted, the activity and number of games must be high.

"...Unfortunately, games such as Worms World Party don't take as long on average as a game like starcraft, so we need more active players than we can provide in our community..."Now, why would you do this for German TV? Because, I believe that the media coverage of this game is important for the BW-scene to be kept alive. And by showing the bigshot crew at Giga Liga that StarCraft still is one of the most popular games out there. And maybe it will evolve into an "E-Sport" here in Europe just as it is in South Korea.

Show your support, and register and play some games over there. There are some pretty good German players over there, ToT)Rob(, iv.GoOdY and ToT)Mondragon( to mention some.

You can find the tutorial » here, which tells you how to register and play on this German server.
