Just minutes ago, GosuGamers received an announcement from Chr1s, PGTour administrator of the status of PGTour. In the announcement he wrote that the reason for PGTour being down is that Pat has disappeared and has cancelled the server hosting. The PGT administration still do not know his personal status, and he does not return their calls.

PGTour, the most active and considered best ladder out there today has been offline for a couple of days now, without any information on why this has occured. The community have been waiting for an announcement from the PGTour administration, and in forum posts they have said themselves that they are not fully aware of what is going on although they will make an announcement soon. Just minutes ago, GosuGamers was contacted by Chr1s, revealing what has happened.

PGTour 'father' Pat is missing

One of the most important administrators of PGTour, Pat, has not been active on PGTour since May 15th, because of something the PGTour administration believe are personal issues. For that time and until May 23rd, TiLaser and Chr1s decided to keep this a secret, since they did not believe it was a big issue. The superadmins and regular administrators were also slightly aware of the issue. When the server later went down, Chr1s sent an email to their web hosts to see that was going on. He received this answer;

Hello, We received a cancellation request for this server that went into affect today. Thank You, Matt NOC Engineer Layered Technologies

Done by an individual - Pat most likely

The cancellation was done by an individual, most likely Pat himself. His personal status is still unknown, but Chr1s and TiLaser can confirm that his physical state and health are fine. "Hopefully everything is fine in his personal life, and that one day he will bring up the reason why he cancelled the hosting of PGTour." writes Chr1s. He also writes that both him and TiLaser are full time students and could not possibly pay the server costs of 300$US a month, "unless a miracle happens".

Chr1s: I believe this is the end of PGTour

Chr1s says that every good thing has an end, and he sadly believes that this marks the end of PGTour. "It was a very good feeling to see a site grow this fast in such a short time and it will serve as a valuable example in our future projects (if any)" he says, proud of what they have established. Going from a "copy-cat website" to a server averaging over 10,000 games per day, he says that they are extremely grateful for everybody who helped it grow. "[Pat], I know you will read this, PLEASE return my (and TiLaser's) calls. We are worried about you!" says Chr1s.

GosuGames would like to wish the PGTour administration the best of luck in getting contact with Pat once again to find out that he is alright. The PGTour site and ladder has given the whole StarCraft community something that will never be forgotten. Let us hope for the best.
