Yet another Starcraft site, Infoceptor, has been hacked. The homepage was replaced with this message in the absence of its webmaster, who apparently is away to fix the issue.

The Red Devils are a prolific team of hacktivists, speaking out for the freedom of Palestine and Iraq. They have attacked nearly 3000 sites, and Infoceptor is yet another random victim. They attack mostly Linux systems, and Infoceptor runs on a Red Hat Linux server. They may be Saudi Arabian, as several of the sites they have attacked read "Made In Saudi Arabia".

The good news at least is that this is not a planned attack, such as AAR’s three attacks on WGTour in the last few months (accounts broken into, then homepage defaced, then a third attempt at closing the newspost about the hacking), but something totally unrelated. Gosugamers still feels that no site is hack proof and that the best solution will and has always been daily up back ups.

We hope a quick recovery, specially in view that this site had a huge amount of fantastic Starcraft and other Blizzard games content. From a Starcraft fan's point of view this is as close to Cyber Terrorism as we will ever get, leaving us all wondering how misguided such attacks are. Maybe if the hackers watched one or two WCG promotional videos they would understand why too.

Now if your in the mood of for another good laugh read this unrelated but funny, misinformed article about how to identify a hacker: Adequacy.org
