Today in Germany the Giga Liga Grand Slam finals for StarCraft Brood War were hosted and played. Mondragon[pG] played against a fellow German, iV.Goody. The match was a best of three series and only two games were played.
With a overall record of 16 wins and 1 loss, Mondragon[pG] dominated this event. His only loss was to an old pG member, Dashwriter. Mondragon's zerg played strong throughout the entire tournament as he took down opponents like ScHnibL0r, TiQ.bob., SSV.Fisheye, and Methos[pG].
The other Giga Liga finalist, a Terran gamer who is not as known as his counterpart is. iV.Goody did very well throughout the entire tournament. Although his overall record was not as good as Mondragon's, he still went a good 13 wins and 8 losses.
The event was broadcasted over German television, so you know the match had to be intense for both players. But, after two games one player emerged victories, Mondragon[pG]. Defeating iV.Goody with a score of 2 wins and no losses, Mondragon was just a little much for the German terran.
The great Mondragon has now won 3 consecutive titles in the Giga Liga. This time he won 2000 Euros, while iV.Goody settled for the second place prize 1000 Euros.
