Day one of the CKCG 2005 South Korea versus China event has come and gone. Some very exciting things happened on this day. The Chinese and South Korean Brood War gamers got off to a great start as the group stages commenced.
Earlier in the week the group announcement was made and I presented the groups with most of the information I had. To refresh some people's memories the groups were as follows.

In the first round 8 games were played. 8 Players emerged as victors. Some very exciting things happened in the first round as some upsets were pulled and some of the worlds most favorite gamers won their matches.

The first round was dominated by the Terran gamers. Only one protoss managed to pull up a win. Yx.Mop got a huge upset over a fellow Chinese gamer wNv.Pj. In the second round things got a little more interesting.

In this round the Koreans dominated over their opponents. Also once again Terran players just destroyed the competition. In the next round more games were played and more people were defeated, and others were winners.

Some more upsets in this series as wNv.Pj was shutout the entire event. So was qcH.ZzR. The Chinese gamers as many expected did not do very well. Although Yx.Mop did take up some the slack for his nation.

The top two players in each group qualified for the next round in the event. In Group D there was a three way tie for first. Each of the three gamers played one another once again to see who would advance and who would not.

So after that GooDFriend and Silent_Control advance while [S.Top]Phoenix66 is left behind.
