And yet again a new patch is out, and it fixes several issues and it makes life harder for the dark side. One by one known issues are being fixed. One by one the doors of abuse are being shut and with every patch a nightmare for hack makers and a hassle for useful utility porgram makers.

Blizzard "has killed almost all patchable hacks", Ashur commented just before the patch was about to be released. Blizzard recently hired a hentchman whose only mission is to make life difficult for all the kiddy scripters out there. Not only that he has 1com helping him out. Only a few working hacks left and Blizzard is crossing each one out from our wish list.

Of course each patch is a hassle when it comes to replays and useful utilities, but that is all, a hassle. The benefits for our community far outweight the costs. Ashur already has updated his » BWLauncher (by the way you need to you need to uncheck "run penguin plugin" or delete the old PenguinLauncher.exe to make launcher work properly.) Other utilities will be updated in due time when their respective makers get over the shock of the fast paced Blizzard patching. These are the official changes announced.

  • Fixed a bug involving zerg buildings.

  • Fixed a bug related to minimap unit ordering during replays.
Again a reminder to all, reporting specific (new) hacks and (new) forms of abuse at [email protected] does work, they do listen and they do take action. Their time frame may not be to our liking but if you think about it, slowly but surely they are moving todwards a workable ladder. There is no sence in fixing the ladder if you can not neutralize all the hacks - and judging what has been happening, that is exactly what they are doing. Patch 1.13d coming out soon too.
