Everything you know - or might not know - about hacking.
Never before in StarCraft history has antihacks been so powerful as now. With several programs, having BWScanner and Penguin Plugin in the lead, serious competitions and ladders are mostly safe. However, hacks still does exist and a huge demand for downloadable hacks was noted by our statistics counter the days after the new patch was released. Google picked up traces from our site mentioning that both maphack and antihacks for 1.12b had been released, and instantly our visits increased from hungry hackers looking for new versions of their programs.
On the one hand, we seem to stand more equipped and united than ever, armed to our teeths with antihacks. Competition can be seen as safe and legit on many of the most popular ladders. On the other hand, with the dream that Blizzard once again would be showing interest in their public ladder slowly seems to be coming true, we will not be able to hide behind neither BWScanner nor private gateways. Blizzard knows antihacking programs can be made but still did not develop any for their games. Not to mention World Cyber Games, who did not implement any anti-hacks for their online preliminary tournaments either. Or what if one day someone develops a hack undetectable by any antihacks since they were not even aware it exists? What if that is today already?

Our bitter and long struggle against the hackers of this community indeed seems to have no end. We might be in lead as for now having our ladders hack free, and we have not seen any counter-action from their side. Yet.
The hack paranoia after losing a game will continue to control individuals such as my good friend Bizkit, any many others with him. The hackers, slowly creeping us down, destroying the sacredness of the fog, will always be around.
But did you know? So will the people supporting legit and fair play be as well.
If you wish your games to be safe from hackers GosuGamers recommends you to download either BWScanner (.com) or Penguin Plugin which are both client-side antihacks. If you find a site supporting hacks, drop an email with the link to [email protected]. It actually works.
