In the finals of IOPS StarLeague, the Terran Curriors member NaDa faced the POS member JulyZerg in a best of five match. Except for honor and an StarLeague title, approximately 13,500 € is at stake. For the non-korean scene, Manifesto7 did an audio shoutcast, and EvilTeleTubby gave a live coverage at TeamLiqud.net. After three games, NaDa proved to be stronger and won his second OSL title.

The IOPS Ongamenet StarLeague finals was played earlier today, where NaDa (picture) faced JulyZerg in a best of five match. Coming from a semifinal against GoRush ending 3-2, NaDa was up against yet another Zerg player. JulyZerg on the other side beat GoodFriend in the second semifinal, also 3-2. However, these close numbers didn't last all the way through the league.

Quick game on Requiem - Marine/Medic/Firebat rampage

In the first game, played on Requiem, NaDa won the game pretty fast. JulyZerg started by expanding at his natural, as NaDa sends up Marines, later accompanied by Firebats and Medics. Thanks to his early Academy tech, he could quite easily run over JulyZerg. The close positions did not exactly help JulyZerg either. A fast and easy win for NaDa, taking the early advantage.

JulyZerg taking the lead on Alchemist...

The second game was played on Alchemist, map that according to the records favour Terran slightly (9-6 in TvsZ). JulyZerg was morphed at '3, and NaDa at '11. JulyZerg once again with an early expansion at his natural, guarded by his main base. NaDa goes two barracks and starts building marines. A bit later on JulyZerg pops up another Hatchery at his ramp, guarded by a couple of Zerglings, while NaDa is sending some of his newly trained Marines towards the Zerg. An expansion up for NaDa at '9, and adds an Academy and starts gathering some gas. JulyZerg starts a spire, which will be quite devestating to NaDa later on.

...looking very good for JulyZerg

Unfortunately for NaDa, JulyZerg finds his '9 expansion and sends his Mutalisks accompanied with Zerglings, totally overwhelming the meek defense put there by NaDa. To settle the score, NaDa sends his Marines/Medics to JulyZerg's '6 expansion. The attack was a bit sloppy and unorganized, giving JulyZerg the ability to mutilate it with his force, putting NaDa in a big disadvantage. It gets even worse when JulyZerg shows up with Ultralisks and Lurkers in NaDa's main base, almost ruining NaDa's base.

Incredible comeback by NaDa

However, thanks to improved macromanagement and great scouting, NaDa gets back into the game. He unloads a pack of Marines/Medics into JulyZerg's main base, destroying his tech and much more. JulyZerg is lacking in defense in his main base, as all his units are at his '6 expansion. NaDa also stands ground at his main base, thanks to two bunkers and well-organized defense. Thanks to this, NaDa manages to make a comeback and turning the match into his - 2-0!

Fast factory for NaDa on Neo Guillotine

The third and possibly last game was played on Neo Guillotine, featuring NaDa at '1 and JulyZerg at '7. The Terran goes an early tech, with his Factory done by the time JulyZerg's Spawning Pool is popped. NaDa adds a Starport and goes for a Tank Drop, and hopes to have slowed July down with his two vultures who snuck in his main killing some drones.
JulyZerg sees the flying Dropship because of him having Zerglings in the middle of the map. He then tries to hinder NaDa of doing some extreme damage with his early Tank drop, and succeds with it by moving his drones to his expansion. And eventually JulyZerg has got some Mutalisks that are able to kill off the harassing Tanks.

Sturdy economy and nice wallin for NaDa

By now, NaDa has a really sturdy economy and adds a couple of more barracks and starts a Science Facility to get support from the Vessels. JulyZerg goes on the offensive, attacking NaDa's main base with Zerglings, Hydras and a couple of Mutalisks. NaDa has however put up a nice wallin guarded with Vultures and Marines, so he is incapable of getting inside.

JulyZerg after the match, crying? (FighterForum picture)
Just some minutes later, NaDa sends a dropship filled with Marines/Medics to JulyZerg's base, corked with more of NaDa's troops. With a lot of infantry units and tanks, along with Sceince Vessels, NaDa advances into JulyZerg's base, guarded by Lurkers and Zerglings and some more. With this pressure and constant reinforcements, the match is settled. Despite JulyZerg's attempt to comeback with a dark swarm over his Lurkers and an impressive attack at NaDa's SCV's in his main base, he says GG and loses the match.

NaDa > JulyZerg @ Requiem
NaDa > JulyZerg @ Alchemist
NaDa > JulyZerg @ Neo Guillotine
