[s]starcraft[/s]
I just got a Private Message from Ashur, where he told me a new version of PenguinPlug has been developed and released.
For those who do not know, RWT is Replay With Text, and it's explained in this way in the readme file on the site.
When you save a replay, all the messages you received from players (and your own messages) will be recorded in the replay. When you view the replay, the messages will appear. It works more or less like RWA (replay with audio by JCA), except you don't need a microphone: the poor man's version.
This new version, 0.3.94, is developed by superpenguin, Ashur and Lasgo. It has a bunch of new features compared to earlier versions. Some really good and useful ones, I have to say.
For the part of the program that saves and shows the text, there has been a new feature added. It is an integrity check that shows a message at the start of the replay, but only if the text has not been modifyed. That way you can be quite sure no one has edited what has been said in the replay.
Several new ways of stopping Starcraft to crash was also added. The ones added are for "save game" crash, "repair + dropship" crash and the "sprite" crash. No real information about the ways to make the game crash is given for kind of obvious reasons.
One of the most interesting things is the Auto Replay Saver feature that Lasgo helped out with. It works similar to the old Lasgo Auto Replay Saver, and will help you by saving all replays after the games you play. The code is converted from the 1.11 version and is now working with version 1.12b of Starcraft. At the same time, a replay anti corruption was added, so hopefully you will be able to have fully working replays whatever happened in the game.
Ashur wrote a function that should please some of the "it was better before" players. The rally point animation annoyed a lot of people, but it is now possible to hide it and have the old look of it.
To have the functions activated you will have to type a command in the beginning of a game. For example, to show the help list you write "\help" (without the quotation signs). You can read about how it works on the PenguinPlug home page, which you can enter by clicking the link below.
Although this is an excellent third party program, if you happen to be unluky enough to be reported while using it, there is a possibility that Battle.net may sanction you as having hacked. Many of us have been using Peguinplug without any sanction though, and hopefully this will remain so - but this new version does have more features which may be detected as a hack.
Thanks a lot for helping the community out, guys! It is very appreciated.
UpdateA new version was released short after 0.3.94. It fixed some bugs, and it is called 0.3.95. You can download it by clicking the link below.

The very useful tool PenguinPlug has come in a new version. With PP you can save replays and see all text you wrote/recieved in it, and it also stops crash-hacks from working.
