There were some very familar faces competing in this tournament. iG.Arcneon, one of the favorites to win the tournament along with being one of the best protoss users in Europe. CocoA[TmG], the 16 year old that managed to shock everyone by going undefeated in his group at the WCG 2005 finals. iG.Chaipzor, one of the rising stars from Spain that has just recently joined iG.
There were a couple surprises that occured in the early rounds. All of the eye members gave it there all, but it just wasn't enough and none of them were able to pass the first round. TmG, had a great first round with all three of their players moving on. Unfortunately, Play.IT's new recruit Play.StrAtO wasn't able to pass the first round by losing to the relatively unknown puLs.Drone.
The second round would pair up two TmG members together which met only one of them would be able to pass. Surprisingly, iG.Arcneon was able to beat CocoA[TmG] without much trouble. The underdog iG.Chaipzor continued showing his skill by taking down puLs.Drone. The third round would put the two iG members up against one another. iG.Arcneon was able to put an end to his new clanmate known as iG.Chaipzor.
Unfortunately, there would only be one game played in the final match. iG.Arcneon was able to defeat IdrA[TmG] in the first game, but after that IdrA[TmG] decided to forfeit the rest of the games.
