[s]interview[/s]
Eriador is a hot player right now. He recently joined MicroGamerZ for SCCL, and played in the nation war against Sweden, in which he won against TreK 2-0. Earlier today, he was interviewed by Gamingeye about the upcoming AmeriCup match against Daaman. The interview spurs up lengthy answers about AmeriCup, being oldschool, the Swedish AmeriCup players and his own style.
Nickname: Eriador
Name: Eivind Leknes
Team: MicroGamerZ, Liquid
Country: Norway
Race: Random
To determine a player's style is often very difficult. It often varies from match-up to match-up, map to map and so on. However, Eriador gets asked by Gamingeye what his style is. He says that when playing at his best, he tries to "take control of the game and dictate it into several small battles continously going on, or to cripple my opponent early on". He is more fond of this than both having a long build-up period before the large battle. He also considers himself to have a good micro management, and a good intuition. "However I have absolutely crap macro, and my timing is off."
Eriador is playing in AmeriCup Season 2, and has one win and one loss. He started off losing to the Ukranian player Strelok[TmG] (picture), but he won next week against the Swedish eye.ZpuX. Regarding the first game (Strelok), Eriador was very happy with the second game, and did not feel bad at all even though he lost two other two games. "I'm way more happy with winning that game in such a stylish manner than I am sad about playing horrible and getting raped in the other two" he writes.
Eriador< Strelok[TmG]1-2
Eriador> eye.ZpuX2-0
Against ZpuX, he got random Protoss and went for Dark Templar drops in both of them, that crippled ZpuX, writes the Norwegian. "I got some kills that gave me economical advantage and then I just played safe from there on" he adds, and also says that ZpuX played alright but had the wrong timing at times. "In pvp, macroing is very easy so it's a matchup where I play well and I harassed pretty well and well my build worked out both games" he reveals.
“
Considering the interviewer was Swedish, and Gamingeye itself is a Swedish website, there was a lot of talk about Eriador against Swedish players. The interview brings up the recent nation war result, where Eriador defeated the Swede ToT)TreK( 2-0, one Zerg vs. Protoss, and the second one Terran vs. Zerg. About the second match, Eri writes that "I managed to hurt him early on which is not one of his best matchups either so I was lucky with that..". He also writes that the first match Eriador had one of his best match-ups and TreK his worst.
But up next, and the main reason for why the interview was conducted, is the Swedish player Daaman[TmG] (picture), who is said to got refueled by joining Trademark-Gamers and defeating Schniblor in the first AmeriCup Season 2 round (read interview » here). Eriador says that Daaman is better at that he's a bit more solid and consistant "but while he has a couple of tricks up his sleeves, I have a couple more" he says and smiles.
