Eight of the best latin players were put in a double elimination tournament. The winner would be crowned the Emperor. The format of the tournament was best of 3, with a best of 1 loser bracket and a best of 5 final.

Our brand new Latin Emperor rampaged through the winners bracket only losing a single game. Play.StYm showed that he is the best of the best when it comes to latin gamers. Hail the emperor!

Event team statement about the Fenix affair

As there were some problems with the disqualification situation of Fenix, here is a summary of what happened. It started out when Fenix and sMaCkEr played the first match. Already then sMaCkEr complained over the lag. The players tried to work it out as good as they could, but in the end it was all played with the lag and result was counted. Same thing for round 2 against sTrAtO. In round 3, the Winner Bracket final, we decided to postpone the match because of the lag problems. The tournament would continue the day after, with the Winner Bracket final and the Loser Bracket Final as well as the Grand Final. What is usually done in tournaments is that a person with lag problems is disqualified immediately, but as this was special, we did not want to do it that way. And as none of the players asked for us to kick Fenix from the tournament we let it go. Hoping for the lag to be gone on the second day it all started. However, the same thing happened again. The games were pretty much unplayable, but Fenix and StYm still finished their match. However, after the match the decision to disqualify the Peruvian from the tournament was taken. His opponent (sTrAtO or StYm from Loser Bracket Final) would not play against him, hence actions were taken – Fenix was out of the tournament. The Grand Final was instead played between the two Mexicans, and the outcome we already know. The decision taken by administrators was accepted by Fenix over MSN. Now after the whole thing the decision might look a bit weird, but we decided that we would rather see a final be played than having players not wanting to play the match. Situations like these are difficult to deal with and even harder to predict. After this event we in the event team have learned to deal with the problems immediately, instead of letting it go as long as possible, if problems like these occur in future events.
