[s]event[/s]
Eight teams from all over Europe are participating. Most of you have probably seen them before, and you will probably see them again as they are all known to be great teams.
The winning team will get an amount of 400 euros, the team in second place will earn 200 euros and the team that catches the third place will be awarded with 100 euros. The first matches will be played on the eleventh of March, with these matchups:
Matchups for first round
Czech Demolition Squad vs. MeetYourMakers
Los Reyes del Mambo vs. Excello
Deutschlands kranke Horde vs. Templars Of Twilight
MicroGamerZ vs. Inferno e-Sports
We asked three nice boys to predict the results for the first matchups. We have the well known Swedish Terran player Mireille, Clawson, who represented Finland at WCG 2004, and the GosuGamers own Editor-in-cheif Raistlin. They all seemed to agree on what teams that would win the first round, this is what they said:
Raistlin, Mireille and Clawson predicts the results
CDS vs MyM:
Mireille: I believe CDS will bring their best lineup as usual while with MYM you never know. However, I think the outcome won't change because of this and it will lead to a victory for MeetYourMakers. The question is how many games CDS will be able to take. My prediction is a win for MYM with the results of 4-1.
Clawson: Mym should be the clear winner of these two.
Raistlin: I don't really see anything or anyone stopping Testie or SEn in the MeetYourMakers roster. As this is a fresh start for MYM with a new prize-money league, I'm sure they won't mess up the organizational bits. Sure CDS are strong but no way Testie and SEn will allow the Czechs to defeat them. 4-0 to MYM.
LRM vs. xLo:
Mireille: LRM vs xLo have always been interesting to watch but this time things have changed. A couple of weeks ago LRM would actually have a chance against xLo, while now I can't see how they would win vs Excello's new recruits. This should be an easy win for Excello, my prediction is 4-0 for xLo with an all kill from either Lx or PJ.
Clawson: xLo will win definitely win if they bring their top guns, they just got too powerful a lineup.
Raistlin: With the new additions to Excello, LRM will surely have difficulties taking down the reigning champions. White-Ra, Strelok, sataNik and Shaman brought home the last season, and with Pj, Lx and Ex to the rescue, they have an even better chance. LRM played well in WGTCL, but this time they will be beat, no matter how good the Spaniards and Brazilians are. 4-0 Excello.
MgZ vs. inF:
Mireille: Inferno ESports will have a hard time in this league and their first match vs Microgamerz won't be easy either. While MgZ is facing a huge loss of key players they will still be able to win this one but with close results. It is too bad inF can't use their awesome 2v2 team for this event since its very strong. However, I predict a win for MgZ with the score 4-2. Oldy and sO.o will do the dirty work!
Clawson: MgZ is the clear winner, because their players are too strong for inF.
Raistlin: MicroGamerZ have been looking very strong lately with Oldy and HungTran. As Korean players aren't allowed in the league, they won't have use of kOok and SuperKorean. inFernoesports have been looking good, and have star quality in BeeswaX and the Bulgarian WCG hero LaMeR. Still I don't see them taking down MicroGamerZ. 4-2 or maybe 4-3 for MicroGamerZ.
ToT vs. DkH:
Mireille: SunCow is a threat but won't blow of the whole twilight squad. ToT will most likely win this without any trouble except for a possible Zerg vs Zerg vs SunCow. My prediction is 4-1 for ToT while Suncow take home one point for DkH.
Clawson: ToT is too powerful, they have great players and a great organization. They always manage to bring an excellent lineup together.
Raistlin: Mondragon and his crew are of course the favorites and even if DkH has a set of interesting players such as DarkGamer and SunCow I see no chance of them taking down the whole ToT team. Still I raise a finger for SunCow, who has a good Zerg versus Zerg. 4-1 to Templars of Twilight.
