FishServer is a private Korean server who has recently become known to the international scene due to the current shortage of competitive ladders. But what makes FishServer so special? Well, for one, it has about 15,000 korean users online at its peak hours (6-10 PM Korean Standard Time). They have their own 1on1 ladder with an average skill level compared to PGTour's C to B+ rank players. It is also monitored by a dedicated admin team. They host weekly tournaments where the player who comes in first receives his very own mouse from K-tec. And last but not least, they have a clan league, similar to that of the WGTCL where up to 256 teams participate each season.
It is this clanleague that can now bring the Fish community closer to the rest of the StarCraft scene as FishServer admins decided to accept in the upcoming 9th season of the ClanLeague two non-korean teams.
- FishServer can become a first step towards a united playground of korean and English-speaking players because it is run by Koreans who actually speak both languages, says Bartar, positive with the new clanleague.
In order to choose these teams they will host a rapid team tournament in close cooperation with the recenlty hired FishServer admin responsible for foreign users - BOSS.Bartar. 16 teams have already signed up and will fight for these two spots and the opportunity to be the first ones ever to enter a major korean amateur clanleague.
- I find the possibility of playing in a clanleague along with 200 Korean clans quite motivating, says Bartar, the man behind the project. He also explains that his role in this is to make a fair draw and a system combining FishServer's standards.
