We see Spain, Canada, Poland and Russia entering the tournament after automatically qualifying for the playoffs. Joining the playoffs are also Romania, Norway, Australia, and Peru. The mentioned four teams won in the 'Second chance' instance.
Germany has already played their playoff match - versus Turkey - and won as predicted with a fairly easy 3-0 win, playing with Selector, GhosT and Kyopo. Things are looking good for Germany, and will be playing Spain or Peru in the next round.
USA has been ravaging through the World Cup group stage, as well as the side-event Galactic Conquest, also hosted by WGTour. They went up against Chile in their first playoff match, and did so with a confident mind. G5, iNcontroL and MitsumotO won their matches against the South American nation, ending the match 3-1 for USA.
