PGL + ESL can only go one way. The good way. Together they host a ladder where the Top 4 in the qualifier will be flown to China to take part in the offline finals. Prize money? €6,500 in total.
Not too long ago, GosuGamers reported that » ESL and PGL teamed up to expand the growing Chinese eSports market. We were promised that both online and offline events would come out of this cooperation, and now we get to see the first sign of that.
Just a couple of minutes ago it was announced that the current StarCraft: Brood War Ladder will be reset to default. And what does that mean? Well, apart from having another ladder in the scene starting from scratch, it is also an opportunity for the PGL and ESL to host a online qualifier where the Top 4 eventually gets flown to China in an offline final.

Tau CrossThe ladder kicks off today and will be open until 12th April. At the end of the ladder, the Top 24 players will qualify for a group stage consisting of four groups with six players each. Take note that neither Chinese nor Korean players may participate in the qualifiers.
The group stage will be played over the 13th to 15th April. The Top 2 of each group are qualified to a playoff, formatted best of three. In the end, the Top 4 there will be qualified to take part in the offline finals.
These four players will be have full-paid travel and accommodation to the event which will take place from 15th to 27th May.
For the offline finals, there will be a prize pool of €6,500 where the winner walks home with €4,000 of that. Second player gets €1,500 and third placer will be awarded €1,000.
