[s]starcraft[/s]Burned chocolate is my special for our readers today. This weekend I submerged myself in hack maker and hack users forums lurking very publicly in the web. I must admit that I found some very funny findings. I discovered that even among some of them it is considered “lame” to use a hack to win and many of them have particular code of ethics and ways of justifying cheating.

Some of them are more interested in making the hacks and obtaining recognition from the community, even in this misguided way rather than actually using them. Some feel that if they have the ability to create these hacks they actually have a divine right to use them as opposed to those who create nothing and are lame hack users. Then of course there are those that think cheating in every possible way and ruining the game for non hack users is just what they are here to do. Many feel that adding trojans and back door subroutines to their ‘hacks’ is an offence that merits the utmost punishment, shunning and IP ban; but on the other hand even upon accusing others of using vile trojans they are they themselves often caught using them.

All I can safely say is that most hacks have trojans and that hack makers and hack users have a subculture of their own; and are at a constant conundrum in trying to resolve their basic ethical dilemma: That despite their ’hard’ work and pretence of self worth, they are ‘cheaters’.

I also discovered that their precious sites after most Blizzard patch updates are suddenly devoid of all meaning and until new hacks are made they cease to exits. So many new sites die the moment the patch is released and the slowly from the ashes the vermin return with new sites and forums as new hacks are created.

Now you may ask, who cares what these people do? Well here comes the zesty part!

Upon a tip by someone who chose to remain anonymous, browsing I discovered that there is a great upheaval going on right now in their sub-culture. Apparently the recent super hack called Kissmypenguin 1.3 made by aka Brakect has a hilarious bug. Sometimes, and it is unclear how, a bug will make the hack-user's own units simultaneoulsy un-ally, and kill each other. This has a double benefit, one that the hack-user will lose the game with his own hack, and two you now have a nice replay to send to [email protected] if you ever come across one of these.

Here are some pictures and a replay showing the event. Please fast forward and check at minute 16:40 seconds. Click on the first picture for the replay and on the second picture for my best map hacker of the month so far.

Hacker getting owned by his own chocolate

All his units un-ally

There is nothing that makes me laugh more than to see a hacker get burned by his own hack. By all means, do Enjoy! Of course the real name of the hack maker and his hack have been changed for obvious reasons.
