Master Clan League - MCL - started in early January a cooperation with the site ClanBase. This new cooperation resulted in a new league called EuroCup XI. The format was that 16 teams played in a Double Elimination tournament and then a playoff with the eight best teams. What was started in early January has now ended in late June with a winner, a runner-up, and a third placer. The final match has been postponed several times, but yesterday it was really happening - SK Gaming against mTw.ATI.
In the semifinals Team 64AMD beat mTw.ATI comfortably with 3-1, but when closing in on the finals, 64AMD had lost almost their full lineup to different teams, among them fnatic, meaning they had too few players to play the grand final against SK Gaming. Instead, mTw.ATI replaced the hurt 64AMD team, 64AMD who now ends 3rd instead. "Our prospects of success aren't that good, but we're motivated and that's the most important fact for a team." said mTw.ATI|Rax before the match, and says that they eagerly anticipated this grand final because SK Gaming being such a tough opponent.
SK Gaming did not play with their best lineup you are used to see in WC3L and other leagues. Whether they prioritated other events or they were not just available at that time, the lineup was still strong. Strong enough to beat mTw.ATI with a clear 3-1 with one match still not finished (1-0 to SK.HoT vs. mTw-DIDI8).
Just today, a couple of days after the grand final being played, the MCL administration announces that there will not be another Master clanLeague, EuroCup XII or whatever you would like to call it. It is said to be of various reasons that they will not continue, however they hope that ClanBase will keep running a cup for WarCraft 3 later on this year.

The clanleague who is considered 2nd best after the well-known WC3L - MCL - finished their eleventh season some days ago. The finals were between SK Gaming and mTw.ATI and was won by SK 3-1. SK Gaming wins 600€, and mTw will have to settle with 300€.
