The qualifiers are over, and everybody's so eager for the regular season to start! In the end LanFan (now known as Fighting.Team), SK Germany, United 5 and mTw.expekt qualified for the league. This season looks to be perhaps the toughest, looking at the player material and the participating teams. Below are the full list of participating teams.

With the new season, a new mappool was announced. They have decided to add Echo Isles to the list, and remove Maelstrom completely. Below is the full map list:

Twisted MeadowsAlso, with the the new mappool the ESL has also added a couple of new rules. The most interesting one is the new map removal system, used in many big tournaments these days. It says that player can remove one map in the mappool when the loser picks, before the match starts. This match removal system is optional, but most likely it will be used by many of the players.
They have also added that GG-Client is allowed if both players/teams agree to it and that the WC3L administrators have been informed that it is to be used. Additionally, they put up another rule when it comes to a company/organisation having more than one representing team in the series.
