Place long-range attackers behind durable front-line units, and position close-range attackers nearer the center-front so their abilities can reach nearby enemies.

Position units by ability range

Check each character’s ability description before choosing a position. The draft’s guidance distinguishes between long-range attacks and abilities that require proximity:

  • Put long-range specialists in the back row.
  • Place characters with high health and defense in forward positions.
  • Move proximity-based attackers toward the center-front, where they can use their abilities without starting in the back.

These are general positioning suggestions, not a verified formation for every encounter. Adjust placements to match the ability descriptions of the characters you deploy.

Adjust when attacks miss

If a damage dealer repeatedly misses or targets empty tiles, review its position against its ability’s range. Tighten the formation only if doing so helps that character reach its intended targets. The supplied material does not establish a specific grid layout, enemy targeting rule, or universal best position, so avoid relying on a fixed arrangement.
