To maintain continuous combat pressure in Absolum, input a dash the instant your weapon strikes an enemy to cancel recovery animation frames. Combine this timing with aerial launches to isolate targets and prevent crowds from overwhelming your character.
How to Execute Dash-Cancels
Attack swings in Absolum leave your hero vulnerable during their recovery animation. Inputting a dash command at the exact moment of weapon contact cancels these trailing recovery frames, allowing you to move or strike again immediately.
- Timing: Focus on the rhythm of your weapon impact rather than visual cues alone. The core timing remains consistent across the hero roster, though heavier weapons have slightly different recovery windows.
- Repositioning: Use the cancel to immediately dash toward a secondary enemy or pivot out of range before enemy counterattacks occur.
How to Sustain Aerial Juggles
Launching an enemy isolates them from ground-level combat, turning multi-enemy encounters into manageable one-on-one skirmishes.
- Launch the target: Initiate an airborne combo by using a launching strike.
- Reposition at apex: As your character reaches the highest point of the launch animation, execute a short dash to position directly beneath the falling enemy.
- Chain light attacks: String together light attacks to keep the target airborne before gravity resets their stance.
- Recover dropped combos: If your sequence drops, reset with a quick secondary aerial strike. Avoid committing to heavy attacks while airborne, as their longer recovery leaves you open to nearby enemies.
In narrow or cramped areas, jump over incoming enemy swings rather than dodging horizontally. Jumping lets you land behind targets for back-stab damage while keeping vertical control.
Target Selection and Hyper-Armor Counterplay
Managing crowd control requires identifying high-threat targets and recognizing uninterruptible enemy states.
- Prioritize ranged and debuff units: Use your mobility and aerial launches to eliminate ranged enemies and debuffers before engaging slower melee targets.
- Identify red hyper-armor auras: When an enemy displays a red aura, they enter hyper-armor and cannot be interrupted or launched by standard attacks.
- Punish recovery frames: Stop your combo immediately and dash away when a red aura appears. Wait for the enemy's attack animation to finish, then launch them during their recovery.

Can you add more details about strategy in a future update?
I tried this today and it worked better than my old setup.
Nice guide. I am checking the other Absolum articles next.
This guide answered the exact question I had.
