To clear enemy rooms efficiently in Absolum, transition from static defensive dodging to proactive mobility. Pressing your dash immediately after an attack lands cancels the remaining recovery animation, keeping your character mobile while sustaining offensive pressure against waves of enemies across Talamh.

Canceling Attack Animations with Dashes

The core loop of aggressive room clearing relies on input timing. Triggering a dash right as your primary attack connects cuts the recovery phase of the swing. This allows you to chain hits faster than standard combo strings while maintaining continuous repositioning.

  • Timing the Input: Input your dash immediately after the attack frame registers. If your hero remains rooted to the ground after a swing, you missed the cancel window and must tighten your execution speed.
  • Disrupting Enemy AI: Target ranged attackers or fast-charging melee units first. Dash directly through them to force a turn-around animation, creating a safe opening to execute strikes without taking immediate counter-attacks.

Controlling Enemy Aggro and Herding Clusters

Standing in the center of a room often leads to being surrounded. To manage large groups, maneuver around the outer edge of the combat space to pull enemies into a dense pack.

  1. Circle the Perimeter: Move along the edges of the room to force enemies to line up while following you.
  2. Execute Area Attacks: Once enemies cluster together, unleash wide-arc melee swings or area-of-effect (AoE) abilities.
  3. Use Dash-Through Strikes: If you lack AoE coverage, strike the front of the pack and immediately dash behind them. Enemies will spend time turning around, giving you time to hit their exposed side or retreat to a safe angle.

Managing Skill Usage and Room Pacing

Active skills deal heavy damage to dense clusters, but their recovery animations leave you open to incoming attacks. Reserve these cooldowns for high-density encounters rather than isolated targets.

When initiating an active skill, position your character along the edge of an enemy group to maximize hits while preserving an escape path. As soon as the skill animation finishes, dash away immediately to reset your position before enemies recover. In rooms with high-damage threats or environmental hazards, adjust your pacing to hit-and-run tactics: land two hits, dash to neutral ground, and re-engage only after the enemy commits to a swing.
